The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard communication protocol used for the transfer of computer files from a server to a client on a computer.Make sure Open this network place when I click Finish is checked, and click Finish. Here’s a short explanation of each line: Protocol protocol for exchanging files over any network. Once the Site Manager window pops up, click New Site and fill in the columns with your FTP details. Enter a name to call this connection, (Example: Acme FTP). You can do so by going to the File menu or pressing CTRL+S ( CMD+S on macOS).The format to enter username and password is egnyteusername$egnytedomainname. The Add Network Location Wizard will open click Next. Anonymous ftp logins are usually the username anonymous with the users email address as the password.Open Control Panel via your start menu and double click on Internet Options. If you have more than 50GB data total to transfer, consider using Egnyte's Migration App or some other third-party tool designed to handle larger data migrations. For larger data transfers, we recommend using an FTP client (e.g., FileZilla, WinSCP). This is because Windows Explorer has a static buffer size of 4096 bytes that can't be changed, compared to FileZilla's buffer size of 256 KB - 64X better than that of Windows Explorer. FTP through Windows Explorer is only recommended for small file transfers.
